Shannon Schmiegel, LCSW

Shannon has a deep passion for helping others. She received her undergraduate degree in Human Development from California State East Bay. After years of working with children on the Autism Spectrum Disorder, she continued her education journey, getting a Master’s degree in Social Work from California State University of Sacramento in 2016. She is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Shannon has been working with children and families for over 20 years. Her professional experience includes working with children in foster care, adoption, developmental disabilities, and community mental health. Shannon has supported many Kinship families and aging caregivers navigate caring for dependents, focusing on trauma-informed care. Shannon is very close with her own 90-year-old grandmother and has seen her mother take on the caregiver role. Shannon’s natural ability to connect with people allows her to provide compassionate support to others. Outside of work, Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children, attending social events, and watching sports.
